                                                         Rejoice with Us

    A month ago, our previous Prophetic Bulletin mentioned that Edwin had gone for another echocardiogram to check on his badly leaking mitral valve. Last year, he directly asked his cardiologist: “Doctor, how long do I have to live?” He answered: “About two or three years.” With a view to his unfinished writing and work for the Lord, this left Edwin, who is now 86, with somewhat of a cloud hanging over him.

     On May 17, he returned for an updated verdict. The news was extraordinary, and the cardiologist happy. Edwin’s heart condition and life expectancy had improved! There is no good reason why he cannot reach 90, though it all depends on the Lord in whose hands we are. In Ria’s presence, Edwin told this Jewish cardiologist, a very friendly man, that for his sake, too, he had prayed that a miracle would take place to lead him to his Messiah. He is well acquainted with and impressed by Edwin’s writing and has several of his books. We hope that, guided by the Holy Spirit, he will read them.

     Since then, Edwin has also revisited an orthopedic institute about his back pain, which is sometimes severe. The physician told him that he does not have bursitis. The cause of his pain is a slightly curved spine with the wear and tear of age upon it. So Edwin will just continue using pain medication and a walking stick to obtain some exercise. But life is still worth living, and God is wonderfully kind.

                                                  Help Urgently Needed

     Two other problems have for some time been burdening our minds.

     The first and more important one is that very many copies of Edwin’s books will probably be unsold when we are no longer alive. He is 86 and Ria 80. We especially worry about The Truth About 666 and the Story of the Great Apostasy, his prophetic masterpiece. Because the 666 = vicarius Filii Dei interpretation is nowadays being undermined by some prominent but misguided scholars in the denomination itself, the potent antidote that this work provides is very much needed by our Church. Those men do not seem to care or even understand the implications of their alternative views, which are an attack on and could potentially destroy the Third Angel’s Message and the cause we love.

     In 2013, three thousand copies of Truth About 666 were printed as a three-volume set, based on how fast the first one thousand copies sold out. Miraculously two thousand were funded by a single scholarly donor who does not belong to our Church but admires Edwin’s prophetic writing. Approximately a third of these books were shipped to our home, from where we have been selling and sometimes giving them away.

     But two thousand sets never came to us here in southern Texas. We had them sent to other locations in America. Why did we disperse these books? We did not want to provide the Enemy with an easy target. If our mobile home burned down or were destroyed by one of those hurricanes that often sweep into this area, he could at one fell swoop have destroyed the entire stock of The Truth About 666 as well as the other books that we have down here.  But what will happen to them when we are no longer around? We pray God others would hopefully assume the task of making them available to ministries and others who do not yet have them.

     Then there is the nasty problem of our credit card debt, originally incurred to lower the high interest rate on our mobile home payments. This we mentioned in our previous Prophetic Bulletin. We have always hated debt like the plague and are trying to get rid of this one as soon as possible, even to depriving ourselves in other ways.

     Edwin’s books, if sold, could easily liquidate our credit card debt; but ordinary advertising has for us proved ineffectual. Word of mouth is a much better method. You, no doubt, know of others that would just love The Truth About 666, since it is as fascinating as Christ and Antichrist.

     Could you please prayerfully help by sponsoring their distribution? If you compare us with other ministries, you will find that we normally do not ask for donors, though we dearly appreciate the gifts that some have sent us. Therefore, we here use the word sponsor. Actually, you can be a surrogate buyer who purchases, for instance, a case of Edwin’s books at half price as gifts to others.

After receiving your check, we will arrange to have it shipped without further charge to any other single address in the United States. You could judiciously donate it to friends, a congregation, or your favorite ministry. You may also choose to let us decide where the books should go. For instance, we know of a dear brother who regularly sends large quantities of Seventh-day Adventist literature to prisons in Ghana, Africa. Another example is a vigorous self-supporting ministry that partially finances its many missionary activities overseas through the sale of truth-filled publications. It already sells all of Edwin’s books. We are sure it would greatly appreciate a gift from you.

     May God bless you richly as you earnestly ponder this need in relation to the finishing of God’s great work. If you have any marketing and distribution suggestions, please let us know. Ria was a very successful book salesperson in South Africa and a so-so one here in the States, but she needs you and God to open a way for these definitive books to go further afield. Last week we sent a smallish batch to South Africa, but it had to go by airmail, which is prohibitively expensive.

                              How Close Are We to the End?

     This is a question that we often ask, in our hearts if not overtly. From time to time, as events crowd in or suddenly loom up on the horizon, some of our dear people are startled and wonder whether the dreaded Sunday law is about to be enacted in America. Others again suffer from a dangerous lethargy, thinking: “I have often heard about it, but perhaps the Lord is delaying his coming.”

     Edwin has therefore decided to delve into this topic more deeply and hopes to come up with answers that could be helpful, in two chapters. Chapter one is almost done and will hopefully be on our website soon. Please read it there. The second chapter will follow in the near future.                                                                        

                              Exciting New Resource on Our Website

     On propheticum.com under All Publications you will now find sample chapters from all five of Edwin’s printed books. You need not scroll down through many pages, which is a laborious process. Clicking on the download icon near the top right-hand corner makes it easy to read them. How? After clicking, go out of the website to downloads on your computer and from the table of Contents select an underlined chapter title. Click on it and jump directly to where you want to be. When you have finished reading that chapter, you can use control home and jump back to the beginning. Then again scroll down a little to the table of Contents to select the next item. Repeat this process. When you have finished with the samples of one book, please do the same with the next one, and so on.

     After a lot of hard work, we also prepared short synoptic details for each of those five books. We have here attached them separately. Please be a dear and send these to your email contacts.

                 The Latest on La Palabra Profética Más Segura

     This is the Spanish translation of A More Sure Word of Prophecy, based on lectures that Edwin presented at Havana in 2014.

     Two thousand copies were printed in Cuba during February. Most of them are safe at our seminary in Havana, but a huge problem is getting about 700 copies from there into the United States and safely to our home in Texas. As yet there is no postal service from the island, so we desperately need to find a solution.

     A few months ago, one of our dear American friends who has a ministry in Cuba brought 180 copies back with him. But then the box in which he sent them to us broke open in the mail and the whole batch was lost, it would seem irretrievably!

     Fedex is trying to obtain clearance for its own flights between the United States and the island. Please pray with us that through some such agency the Lord will make this mountain of difficulties melt away.
